EIGHT THINGS I'VE LEARNED SINCE I STARTED THIS CRAZY JOURNEY...

Life is too short to not to do what you want. It’s easy to get caught up in life. But if you really enjoy doing something, DO IT! I always made excuses for why I couldn’t go through yoga teacher training: it’s too expensive, I don’t have enough time, I already have a job, I can’t do a handstand…The list goes on. There are a million excuses not to do something, but they are just excuses. If it makes you happy then none of that matters.

Yoga is always a good idea. If you are ever on the fence about going to yoga, the gym, for a run, etc. always say yes.  There are plenty of times when I’m “too tired” to exercise, but I am ALWAYS happy that I did.  This might be from the whole “exercise releases endorphins and endorphins make you happy” thing. Whatever it is, I’m happy and I’ll take it!

Listen to your body. If you honestly are too tired to exercise, it’s ok to rest. Honor your body, especially if you have any injuries. It’s better to take a day off then injure yourself more and have to take a month off.

“Me time” is super important.  Sometimes we just need to go hide in our bedrooms and binge watch Netflix in bed by ourselves. There is nothing wrong with that!

Gratitude is the remedy for everything. Every day write down one thing that you are grateful for and see how your mood instantly shifts to positivity. Unless it’s already there and then you will just be even happier and who doesn’t want that?

People have your back. I was super nervous about launching my website, starting a blog, and posting about all of this on social media. I put so much time and energy into this project I was afraid that people wouldn’t like it or worse, they would judge me. But the amount of support and positive feedback that I have received over these past few weeks is overwhelming. I am so blessed to have so many amazing and supportive people in my life. Even people that I haven’t talked to in years have reached out to me and it honestly means the world to me!

Go to the beach! This one is right up there with go to yoga, better yet go do yoga on the beach! There is something about the feel of the sand between your toes, the smell of salty air, and the sound of the ocean that will instantly relax you and make you happy. For those of you that don’t live near the beach put on a bikini, light a beachy candle, and put on a relaxing ‘Sounds of the Ocean’ playlist… I think that could work too.

And last, but absolutely not least...

Whatever you think that you are capable of times it by infinity. There is no dream too big, if you want something bad enough you will make it happen.  You are your biggest fan. Believe in yourself and you will move mountains.
